HARTFORD’S HISTORY
The Hartford was founded in 1810 and is the 13th-largest property and casualty insurance company in the United States. Hartford primarily sells its product through a network of independent insurance agents and brokers, such as Fusco Orsini & Associates. The insurance industry recognizes Hartford as the creator of the BOP, or Business Owners Policy. A BOP is a package policy that provides both property and liability coverage for eligible small businesses and is the most preferred business package product in the market. Now, many insurance companies offer the BOP.
HARTFORD’S BUSINESS INSURANCE OFFERINGS
The Hartford offers a diverse range of business insurance products. As mentioned previously, the BOP, or Business Owners Policy, is Hartford’s flagship product and contains liability insurance and property insurance, and several coverage endorsements and extensions. Some critical offerings of the BOP include business income insurance (business interruption insurance), sewer and drain backup, hired and non-owned automobile liability, cyber, EPLI, and equipment breakdown. Other forms of insurance offered by The Hartford include workers’ compensation, commercial property, employment practices liability insurance, directors and officers liability insurance, surety bonding, and business auto.
