Meet Doak Belt

Doak R. Belt – Investment Advisor Representative (IAR) & Business Owner Planning Specialist

Raised in the farming and ranching community of Cortez, Colorado, Doak gained a deep appreciation for hard work, family values, and entrepreneurship. Because of this he is dedicated to working with family-owned businesses to create integrated financial plans that enhance opportunities through and around the business while balancing the business owner’s personal planning and personal balance sheet. Whether it's preparing for retirement, transitioning the business to the next generation, or positioning the company for growth, Doak and his team guide the business owner through every step.  Doak’s mission is to educate, guide, and counsel business owners so they can live their best lives by optimizing both their business and personal financial futures, leaving a lasting legacy.

Doak graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Social Science/Economics and has been serving clients in the financial services industry since 1997.  When he is not working and collaborating with his clients and planning partners, Doak spends his time with his two teenage sons and his wife and business partner, Ver. As an active and involved dad, Doak can be found at La Jolla High School watching his sons play various sports, on the basketball court coaching his youngest son, and on the executive board of La Jolla Troop 4 Boy scouts leadership team to support his sons’ scouting journey. Personal hobbies include pickleball, hiking and researching his favorite interests of history and economics.

To support and bolster the financial planning industry, Doak has been a long-time member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA).  He has been actively involved in advocating for legislation which positively impacts family-owned businesses. Doak served for nine years on this local NAIFA board and one year as president of the San Diego NAIFA chapter.
